How do I submit my startup to a directory?

Most directories have a "Submit" or "Add product" page. Put a short tagline, a one-paragraph description, your logo, a few screenshots and your website URL in one document, and you can work through the list much faster. Add the places you pick to your launch plan to keep track.

Are these startup directories free?

Of the 96 places in this room with a checked price, 47 offer a free listing that the site's own page confirms, and 27 of those also sell paid extras, such as a faster review or a place ahead of the queue. See free startup directories, with what free costs at each. The other 49 charge, or the page we read does not confirm a free option. What the paid ones charge. We print a price only when we found it on the site's own page. Prices change, so check the submit page before you pay.

Which directories should I submit to first?

Start with launch platforms such as Product Hunt, which is free to launch on: a launch day can bring your first users. Not every well-known one is free: Beta List is paid only. Some free queues are long (DevHunt: free launches wait about 6 months on average; Uneed: free line: Uneed assigns the launch date, at most 5 months out), so plan your dates before you pick. Our guide to Product Hunt alternatives compares the launch platforms. Then move on to directories that match your audience, like AI directories for AI products or review sites for B2B software.

Do startup directories help with SEO?

Less than their sales pages suggest. 21 places in this room advertise a dofollow link, and 20 of them tie it to a payment, an upvote count, a badge on your site or a featured slot. Google's spam policies list “low-quality directory or bookmark site links” as link spam. A listing helps most when people in your market actually browse that site, and it gives your brand name one more page in search. What each site promises, and what it is worth.

How do you check this list?

We check every link on the list: that the domain still works, where it redirects, and whether it was parked, sold or taken over by spam. Each poster shows the date of its last check, and every change goes into the changelog. Read how we check and what our 2026 link check found.

Can I get the whole list as a file?

Yes: get the full list, all 318 places as an Excel file, with their links, the facts we checked and the date we last checked each one. It comes with a free account: no password, we email you a sign-in link.
