Where can I get feedback on my startup?

Subreddits like r/startups, r/SaaS and r/alphaandbetausers, plus communities such as Indie Hackers and Show HN, are where founders share what they build and ask for feedback. Each has its own rules, so read them first. You get more useful replies when you ask about something specific, such as your landing page, pricing or onboarding.

Can I promote my startup in these communities?

Only within each community's rules, and they differ. Indie Hackers: no formal rules page; the founder's public posting tips ask for discussions, questions, lessons and useful links rather than promo posts. Show HN: only non-trivial things people can try now; no quick generated one-offs, landing pages or fundraisers. r/Startups: no direct sales, ads or promotional posts; promotion allowed only in designated threads stickied at the top of r/startups. We print the posting rule for 57 of the 74 communities here; for the rest, read the rules on the community's own site. Join other discussions first, and write your post around what you learned or what you need help with. The rules of each community, quoted.

What is the difference between communities and directories?

Communities are for conversations: you post, people reply, and you learn what works. Startup directories are for listings: you submit your product once and the listing can keep sending visitors. Many founders test an idea in communities first, then use directories when they launch.

How do you check this list?

We check every link on the list: that the domain still works, where it redirects, and whether it was parked, sold or taken over by spam. Each poster shows the date of its last check, and every change goes into the changelog. Read how we check and what our 2026 link check found.

Can I get the whole list as a file?

Yes: get the full list, all 318 places as an Excel file, with their links, the facts we checked and the date we last checked each one. It comes with a free account: no password, we email you a sign-in link.
